A useful report includes your iPhone model, iOS version, app version, the exact message shown, and whether the issue happened during capture, playback, protection, restore, or deletion. Do not email private photos or a backup recovery code.

Common questions

The camera does not open

Open iPhone Settings → Privacy & Security → Camera and allow access for Slow Mirror. The app does not request microphone or Photos access.

The outline does not match

Use “My Slow Mirror” → “Rebuild capture outline.” Confirm a clear, frontal position. Existing records are not rewritten.

Is sound recorded?

No. New motion portraits are short and silent. Slow Mirror does not request microphone permission.

What does “protected” mean?

The app only shows a protected state after encryption, upload, independent readback, decryption, checksum, and manifest checks succeed.

Is the complete archive in iCloud?

Not in the current release. iCloud is used for a small private recovery-availability check; optional encrypted Slow Mirror backup is a separate choice.

How can I sign in?

Use Sign in with Apple or ask Slow Mirror to send a six-digit code to the email on your account. There is no password and no marketing email.

How do I restore on a new iPhone?

Sign in with the same Slow Mirror account and choose “Restore to this iPhone.” If account recovery was prepared before the old device was lost, there is no extra password or long code in the normal path.

How do I delete my account?

Open “My Slow Mirror” → “Account & Data” → “Delete account and all data.” You can export an encrypted archive first. Apple-linked accounts confirm with Apple; email-only accounts confirm with a fresh email code.

Privacy and recovery

Support does not need your private photos or backup recovery code. When account recovery is enabled, the service keeps account-scoped recovery material so the same authenticated account can restore; this is not a zero-knowledge design. Read the full Privacy Policy for storage, administrator-access boundaries, and deletion details.
